A Guide to wash your Caps

If caps are your favorite accessory because you wear them practically every day, and you want them to continue to last, then without a doubt it is important that you give them the cleaning they deserve!

The first thing you should know is that it is completely normal for your cap to stain or even turn a little yellow. All this is due to the constant use that you can give it, between the sweat, visits to the beach, the park, stains of drinks or even food accidentally.

But do not worry! All this has a solution and we will give it to you.

It is best to wash your cap manually, always following the manufacturer’s recommendations through the label attached to the cap.  You may also be able to machine wash it, but that’s why it’s important to always check the manufacturer’s label first, before deciding on that option.

This is the best choice if you don’t have a lot of time for cleaning. Otherwise, you can opt for hand wash. Normally it is also preferred to avoid some type of deformity in the cap, however, as we mentioned, some caps, such as sports caps, are prepared to be washed in the washing machine.

In this guide, we tell you the steps you must follow to wash a cap very carefully so that it does not deform.

To start you will need:

  • Container for water
  • Mild detergent or liquid soap
  • Toothbrush or other soft brush
  • Warm water, not hot

Once you have everything you need, we follow these 6 points:

  1. Put warm water in a bowl and add the mild detergent or liquid soap. Add enough water to cover the cap.
  2. Let the cap soak for about 20 minutes.
  3. Use a normal or soft toothbrush and go over the dirtiest areas. Do it gently so as not to damage the cap.
  4. Rinse the cap well to remove any soap residue.
  5. Air dry the hat. Be very careful how you place the cap so that during drying, it does not deform.

This technique will help you keep your favorite caps looking good for longer.
